In the aftermath of a week of missed home run calls, I e-mailed a major league umpire to ask what he thinks about the possibility. The umpire, who does not want his name used, sent along this response: "I can tell you there isn't an umpire out on the field that wants to miss a call and then be forced to watch the highlights the rest of the evening," he wrote.
