ESPN.com Wednesday, May 21, 2008 ATLANTA -- Increasing the regular season to 17 games might seem like an odd way to resolve the NFL's pending labor problems, but an additional regular-season game could smooth some of the differences between the league and the union. During the owners' meetings Tuesday, commissioner Roger Goodell suggested the idea of a 17th regular-season game as an alternative on the table in future negotiations.
