With the regular season in the rear-view mirror and the playoffs still a few days away, I figure it's a good time for a few random notes. • First, I have to tip my helmet to the Carolina Hurricanes. Now, I know they didn't make the playoffs, but I figured they would be dead on the frozen water when their captain, Rod Brind'Amour, went down with a season-ending knee injury on Valentine's Day.
