Hudson tossed six strong innings, allowing only an unearned run for the Atlanta Braves in a 3-2 victory Thursday night over the Detroit Tigers. Verlander also was effective. He gave up three hits, including a solo homer by Atlanta slugger Chipper Jones, in 5 1-3 innings.
