ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- The season likely isn't over for UTEP (No. 24 ESPN/USA Today, No. 18 AP), though it might have felt like it Sunday when Southern Methodist stunned the Miners 73-57 to win the Conference USA tournament and an automatic trip to the NCAA tournament. It was UTEP's first loss since Dec. 1, a 23-game stretch that helped the Miners get noticed by pollsters and probably set them up for an at-large berth to the dance.
