Prosecutors want grand jury to revise the perjury indictment against Thomas

SAN FRANCISCO -- Federal prosecutors plan to ask a grand jury to revise the perjury indictment charging former Olympic cyclist Tammy Thomas with lying under oath about her steroid use. Prosecutors say they're seeking the new indictment to address U.S. District Court Judge Susan Illston's concern that too many of Thomas' alleged false statements are lumped into too few charges.
