In Round Three of this week's Quiksilver Gold Coast Pro, the first stop on the 2008 World Tour, Dane Reynolds drew local Dean Morrison in fairly weak but contestable shoulder-high surf—not unlike much of the surf back at beaches in Ventura, California where the 22-year-old grew up.
