When fans reference TE Vernon Davis' extraordinary combine showing in 2006 they do so by the 4.38-second 40 he ran, and while scouts were certainly impressed by that time Davis' results in the 20-yard split (2.52 seconds) and vertical jump (42 inches) carried more weight in NFL circles.
