Forty names, games, teams and minutiae making news in college basketball, where students are supposed to spell better than they apparently do at UAB (1): "We beat Mempis [sic] not our girls," read the sign held up at Bartow Arena Saturday night. The Minutes will have additional thoughts later in this column on the No. 1 Tigers and their violent, 79-78 escape against the Blazers, but the first one is this: Too bad they don't have spell-check for handmade signs.
