W. Carolina 73, Furman 65

CULLOWHEE, N.C. (AP) -- Brandon Giles scored 21 points Thursday night to lead Western Carolina to a 73-65 victory over Southern Conference opponent Furman. Giles hit 5-of-7 from 3-point range to lead the Catamounts (5-10, 1-4 Southern Conference) to their first league victory. Negus McKenna scored 16 points, and Jake Robinson had 15. Justin Dehm led the Paladins (2-13, 1-5) with 18 points. Furman led 41-28 at halftime.
