Thursday, January 10, 2008 VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- The Vancouver Canucks claimed center Kris Beech off waivers from the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday. Beech had five goals and four assists in 16 games for Columbus this season while also spending time in the minors with Syracuse of the American Hockey League. Beech, 26, is earning $585,000 this season and is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1. The Canucks are the sixth NHL team for Beech, the seventh overall pick by Washingt ...
