This time of the year always cracks me up. Television tells us to spend wads of cash we don't have on trinkets and gadgets for those we love, like and merely tolerate. Scheduling pressures abound with attempts to squeeze in time with friends and family, whether it's feasible or not. Tins of festive cookies and punch bowls lurk at every turn, as food and drink is in nauseating abundance.
