To remember Beard for scandal is to remember the wrong things

There is a hole in the Basketball Hall of Fame. A hole where Ralph Beard should be. Many who saw Beard lead the Kentucky Wildcats to two national championships, earn a 1948 Olympic gold medal and start as a rookie in the first NBA All-Star Game say he was the greatest guard in the world at the time -- a world that included Bob Cousy, among others.
