MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Matt Reagan connected on a 32-yard field goal in the third overtime Saturday as Memphis defeated SMU 55-52. Memphis (7-5, 6-2 Conference USA) would get its chance to win the game by stopping SMU on fourth-and-goal from the 2 on the first possession of the third overtime. Corey Mills knocked SMU quarterback Justin Mills out of bounds as Willis tried to sweep around the right side.
