It must have been the seven-day layoff. How else to explain No. 1 Ohio State's losing 28-21 to unranked Illinois and No. 12 Michigan's losing at unranked Wisconsin 37-21 on Saturday? At least we won't have to hear about a 50-day layoff before the Jan. 7 BCS National Championship Game in the Louisiana Superdome.
