Last week, I was in New York to take in the 2007 Lester Patrick Awards. Brian Leetch, Cammi Granato, John Halligan and Stan Fischler were all honored at the Sheraton Towers, a hotel that hasn't changed its carpeting since Vic Hadfield was going top daddy on Gilles Gilbert. Jim Schoenfeld, former NHL defenseman and current Rangers assistant GM, once again gave me the firmest hand shake of all time, just ahead of former Big Bad Bruin Ken Hodge.
