Hawaii hopes stretch run boosts schedule strength

The cynics crossed off Hawaii's name from the BCS watch list as soon as the season schedule came out, and maybe they were right in doing so. Hawaii desperately tried to beef up its nonconference slate but got no takers. The Warriors eventually settled for two Division I-AA teams (Northern Colorado and Charleston Southern), a struggling Mountain West squad (UNLV) and a Pac-10 school (Washington) that at first seemed like a BCS résumé booster but has since backslid.
