Stanford coach Trent Johnson wants no sympathy for his latest obstacle. The Cardinal will play the first nine games of the season without potential lottery pick Brook Lopez, who is academically ineligible for the fall quarter. But Stanford had to play the first five games without the 7-foot center last season because of a back injury.
