LUXEMBOURG -- Top-seeded Anna Chakvetadze beat Meilen Tu of the United States 6-1, 7-6 (2) Thursday to reach the quarterfinals of the Fortis Championships. The Russian will next face fifth-seeded Marion Bartoli of France, who defeated Sybille Bammer of Austria 6-2, 7-5.
