Pitt employing 'Wildcat' offense to alleviate QB woes

Pitt's offensive coaches visited Arkansas in May to learn the "Wildcat" offense, which features Razorbacks tailback Darren McFadden taking direct snaps and directing a spread-option package of plays. Panthers coach Dave Wannstedt figured the package might come in handy, given his team's inexperience at quarterback -- and that was before starter Bill Stull was lost to a thumb injury.
