For all the stupid secrecy, senseless comparisons and drawn-out "competition," Notre Dame's quarterback situation came down to one word: when. As in, when would Jimmy Clausen be ready to start? The answer came Tuesday as third-year Fighting Irish coach Charlie Weis announced Clausen would start Saturday at No. 14 Penn State (ESPN, 6 p.m. ET).
