ESPN Insider Tuesday, June 26, 2007 I don't understand the skepticism. I've been hearing it for two or three years now, this skepticism about Craig Biggio's chance of someday being elected to the Hall of Fame, and I don't understand it. Of course, now that he's finally -- painfully, even -- picked up his 3,000th hit, some of the skeptics will fade away. But why 3,000? I mean, really. Why 3,000 hits rather 2,867?
