In the past, we have seen some players deliver outstanding seasons when they are playing for a new contract. In 2005, Shaun Alexander had a career year and MVP campaign as he sought a new deal with the Seahawks. Muhsin Muhammad came through with his best year ever before he hit the free-agent market in 2004.
