SECAUCUS, N.J. -- At the 1987 NBA Draft Lottery, David Stern pulled seven envelopes out of a barrel. The San Antonio Spurs ended up with the No. 1 pick and David Robinson. The Phoenix Suns got the No. 2 pick and were stuck with Armon Gilliam. In 1992, the Orlando Magic skipped ahead of the Minnesota Timberwolves in the draft lottery, landing Shaquille O'Neal.
