BERLIN -- Elena Dementieva rallied to beat Mara Santangelo of Italy 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 Tuesday in the first round of the rain-delayed German Open. The 10th-seeded Russian overcame 10 double-faults and a 3-0 deficit in the third set. "It was tough conditions for both of us," said Dementieva, referring to a rain delay and strong wind.
