In case you were wondering, Thrashers GM Don Waddell had been working on the deal to acquire forward Keith Tkachuk for a couple of weeks. Waddell said he began talks with Blues president John Davidson prior to last week's GM meetings. The Blues, according to Waddell, wanted to wait and see where they'd be in the standings in the days leading up to Tuesday's deadline.
