SAN JOSE, Calif. -- You have to be an optimist to do what Phillip King is doing, so when he says "I think things are looking bright," it's hard not to take him at his word. At 18, King was a two-time reigning U.S. junior champion, weighing whether or not he had enough game to turn pro.
