As I look at the Eastern Conference standings, I'm starting to wonder if the Hurricanes are going to qualify for a chance to defend their Cup championship. On Saturday night, Carolina dropped a 4-3 overtime decision to the woeful Bruins in Raleigh. The Hurricanes are now 0-3-1 in their last four games and just 5-7-3 in their last 15. The Canes haven't scored a significant win since stopping the Ducks, 4-2, on Dec. 29. That's not so good. Carolina's recent woes put it in a dangerous situation. ... Activate your ESPN Profile!
