The past 12 months didn't provide the greatest memories for American sports fans. The U.S. got whipped by international opponents in hockey (the Olympics) AND soccer (the World Cup) AND baseball (the World Baseball Classic) AND basketball (the world championships) AND golf (the Ryder Cup). The basketball and baseball MVPs were Canadian (Steve Nash and Justin Morneau).
