Sunday, December 10, 2006 Carolina Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme was inactive for Sunday's game against the New York Giants with an injured thumb on his throwing hand, giving Chris Weinke his first start in more than four years. Starting cornerbacks Chris Gamble and Ken Lucas also were inactive for the Panthers, both sidelined with hamstring injuries.
