AKRON, Ohio (AP) -- Ryan Cubit threw for 217 yards and a touchdown to lead Western Michigan to a 17-0 win over Akron on Friday night. The win will likely help the Broncos (8-4, 6-2 Mid-American Conference) secure a bowl invitation for the first time since 1988, when they fell to Fresno State in the California Bowl.
