BOONE, N.C. (AP) -- Eduardo Bermudez scored a career-high 21 points and Jeremy Clayton added 12 points and 13 rebounds to lead Appalachian State to a 78-63 win Monday over Montreat. The Mountaineers never trailed, shooting 49 percent from the field and holding the Cavaliers to 38 percent shooting. Bermudez came off the bench for Appalachian State, shooting 6-of-10 from the field and making all eight of his free throw attempts. Clayton also shot 6-of-10 from the field.
