NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- It was a record-setting night for junior Sylvia Fowles, who led LSU (No. 9 ESPN/USA Today, No. 10 AP) to a 59-39 win over Tulane on Sunday in a game marred by mistakes -- from poor shooting to turnovers -- on both sides. Fowles scored 21 points and with her three blocks set a school record for career blocks. LSU (5-0) had 15 turnovers, and coach Pokey Chatman said her team was lucky Tulane (2-1) didn't capitalize.
