HOUSTON (AP) -- Rice got 24 points from Morris Almond and coasted to a 118-66 win over Paul Quinn College in the Owls' season opener on Saturday night. It was the most points scored in Rice history. The previous high was 113 against Grambling in 2004. Almond, who averaged 21.9 points last year, scored his 22nd point with 17:03 minutes to play Saturday, giving him 1,000 for his career.
