After a 1-6-1 start that included a 9-1 drubbing in Buffalo, you just knew there would be changes in Philly. On Sunday morning, those changes came down. Longtime GM and club icon Bobby Clarke resigned. Head coach Ken Hitchcock was fired. The club stayed within the organization, promoting assistant GM Paul Holmgren to replace Clarke, while assistant coach John Stevens takes over for Hitchcock. The timing of the moves makes some sense.
