Vesnina survives first-set bagel, wins at Tashkent

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan -- Elena Vesnina of Russia advanced to the second round of the Tashkent Open on Tuesday, winning 0-6, 7-5, 6-2 after qualifier Sun Shengnan of China double-faulted twice while serving for the match. The second-seeded Vesnina won on her seventh match point. Sun was leading 5-3 in the second set but served two consecutive double-faults in the ninth game.
