Special to ESPN.com Sunday, October 1, 2006 In journalism school 20 years ago, I heard the theory that if a story is really difficult for you to write, it's probably a good indication that you need to make yourself do it. On Sunday in my newspaper, The Kansas City Star, we published a story that has been the hardest I've ever had to write. It was done because I believe it was very necessary.
