The unseeded American, who has been sidelined since Wimbledon, upset sixth-seeded Ana Ivanovic 6-3, 6-4 in the first round of the Fortis Championships on Wednesday. Defeating the Serb for the second time in as many career meetings, Williams next will face Polish teen Agnieszka Radwanska.
