This past weekend the Detroit Tigers popped the corks on 220 bottles of champagne and celebrated clinching at least the wild-card spot even though they were in first place at the time. Now, I know it has been a long, long time since the Tigers reached the postseason -- the last year they did so, the most famous person in a Detroit cap was Magnum P.I.
