Mike DeBord was Michigan's offensive coordinator in 1997, when the Wolverines were crowned national champions. After a stint as head coach at Central Michigan, DeBord returned to Michigan, but his old job had been filled. After a five-loss season last year though, Lloyd Carr allowed both of his coordinators, including Terry Malone, to depart.
