This week, many people will watch the 138th running of the Belmont Stakes. In the past, those in the owner's boxes typically have been millionaires who have a solid stable and plenty of cash. That's no longer the rule, however, thanks in part to the horses purchased for cheap who have had success in the biggest races and a growing number of syndicates.
