Simpson's 64 nears tourney record, leads Allianz

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- On a perfect day for golf, Scott Simpson was just a little bit better than the rest of the field. Simpson finished with a 7-under 64, one stroke off the tournament record, and took a one-shot lead over four players after first-round play in the Allianz Championship on Friday.
