Without warning, Iowa State fires Morgan

Iowa State abruptly fired Wayne Morgan Thursday night, Morgan told ESPN.com. Morgan was summoned to a meeting with athletic director Jamie Pollard and president Gregory Geoffroy at 10 p.m. Thursday night. Morgan said he was told at the meeting that he was fired, as was his staff. Morgan, 55, had been the coach for three years after replacing Larry Eustachy on May 14, 2003.
