Thursday, March 9, 2006 ATLANTA -- The playoff-contending Atlanta Thrashers pulled off a minor deal before Thursday's NHL trade deadline, acquiring defenseman Steve McCarthy from the Vancouver Canucks for a draft pick. McCarty The 25-year-old McCarthy, a first-round pick in the 1999 draft, had two goals, four assists and 43 penalty minutes in 51 games for the Canucks this season.
