Mets pitcher will miss event with injured toe

MIAMI -- New York Mets pitcher Pedro Martinez will miss the World Baseball Classic due to an injury in his right toe; he will not be included on the Dominican Republic's final roster, making him ineligible for the tournament, ESPNdeportes.com learned on Wednesday.
