Thrashers claim winger Fata from Penguins

ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Thrashers claimed left wing Rico Fata, who is scoreless in 20 games this season, off waivers from the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday. Fata, 25, is two years removed from his best season, when he set career highs with 16 goals and 34 points in 73 games for the Penguins in 2003-04. However, after notching 38 points in the Italian League during last season's lockout, Fata had failed to get on the scoresheet in 20 games, logging 10 penalty minutes and a minus-5 rating. In 1 ...
