Good pheasant production in central areas

GREAT FALLS, Mont. — With more than 1.3 million acres of private land available for hunting and good bird numbers this year, central Montana will be the state's leading pheasant region. While that may come as a surprise to hunters used to driving farther east, staying closer to home is good news in a season of high gas prices.
