Ten years ago, the University of South Florida decided it would build a football program. Jim Leavitt was hired as coach, two years before his team played a game. His first office was an abandoned trailer. Back then, Leavitt could only dream of playing in a major conference, against a nationally-ranked team, in front of a large home crowd and an ESPN television audience.
