JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) -- Justin Stepp caught a 9-yard pass from Ingle Martin on the final play of the game Thursday night and Furman rallied for a 37-35 victory over Jacksonville State. Furman (1-0) drove 74 yards over the final 1:22 to the winning touchdown in a game that saw the teams combine for more than 800 yards in total offense.
