Gary Bettman had to make a very tough call when it came to the decision to reinstate Todd Bertuzzi. And, on Monday, in his long statement, he acknowledged that there would be those who would be critical of his ultimate choice. The commissioner can count me in that group. I would have added another half season to the ban. In my mind, it's real simple. A spot in the National Hockey League -- or any major sport, for that matter -- is a privilege, not a birthright.
